I Tan France-d My Best Friend's Closet

Saturday, July 06, 2019

If you haven't watched Queer Eye on Netflix, please leave this page, go watch an episode, then please come back! Tan France is the fashion expert of the show and shows everyone how to work with basics, fun pieces, and simple details. He also teaches that you don't have to spend a lot of money to dress well - Target is fashionable too! All of these tips perfectly fit in with my best friend Rachel's wardrobe, so for an entire weekend, I Tan France-d her!

Some of my favorite Tan Tips include not needing to shop brand names to get great styles, work with your staple pieces (hey there blue jeans and white tees), and don't forget to accessorize! Keep reading for more styling hacks that I live by.

A SIMPLE STRIPE
Tan says a bold pattern can go a long way, but if you're looking for one that you can get more use out of, go for the stripes. Stripes can be styled in different ways without it being obvious you're wearing the same piece (vacation packing hack). A striped tee is one of my go-tos and it was the perfect pop of pattern in Rachel's outfit for our day out shopping!

A GOOD JACKET IS A MUST
Denim is always a neutral to me, so I recommend a classic denim jacket to go with basically anything! I love how one can tone down something more dressy like this fab floral dress and heels for a Sunday downtown. Make this look even more casual by switching out the heels for some white sneaks.

FRENCH TUCK AND GO

The infamous french tuck Tan France is known for and something I have always done as the finishing touch to outfits. Any oversized tee or flowy top can easily look more fitted and put together by simply tucking in the front of it, letting the sides and back fall out.
This sweet and girly look had a lot of fun details to it with the clip dots and trimming on the blouse, embroidered headband, shark bit jeans, and a colorful purse.
For more solid and plain outfits, fun and colorful accessories are a must to me!
